Located in Boutiliers, the Observatory offers a unique point of view, perching its visitors at 3182 feet above Port-au-Prince, its bay and surrounding areas. In 1981, special permission was granted for the construction of the Observatory, as building a lookout point from such a strategic military position required as much.
